Sojourner ("the app") is a personal travel tracker that helps you log and analyze your stays across countries. Your privacy matters — the app is designed to keep your travel data on your device.
Independent Status: Sojourner is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of any government or the European Union. All Schengen-related tracking features are provided for personal reference only.
All stays (countries, dates, notes) are stored locally on your device, in the app's private storage, protected by your device's built-in encryption. This data is never uploaded to any server and is not accessible to the developer.
You can export your stays to a CSV file and re-import them at any time. This export is initiated by you, saved locally, and is not transmitted anywhere by the app.
The Schengen day counts and calculations provided by the app are estimates intended for personal reference and planning purposes. They do not constitute legal advice. While the app uses logic based on the official European Commission short-stay calculator, users should always verify their official status and remaining stay with relevant border authorities or official government resources.
The app requests approximate location (GPS/network) only when you use the Fast Check-In feature to auto-detect your current country. Location is used in the moment to resolve a country code and is not stored, not logged, and not shared with any third party. You can always add stays manually without granting location permission.
The app uses Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous usage data, including:
This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally. You can opt out via Android's per-app data controls or under Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymous crash reports. These include device model, OS version, and a stack trace of the error. No personal data or travel data is included.
The app uses Firebase Remote Config (Google LLC) to remotely control certain app behavior (for example, temporarily enabling free access to all features during open testing) without requiring an app update. This uses an anonymous installation identifier to fetch configuration values from Google's servers — no personal or travel data is sent or collected.
When you send feedback via the Help screen, the app opens your email client with a pre-filled message. This message automatically includes:
This information is sent directly to sojourner.support@gmail.com and is used only to respond to your inquiry and diagnose issues. It is not shared with any third party.
In-app purchases are processed by Google Play Billing (Google LLC). The app does not collect or store payment information. Purchase status (free/premium) is verified through Google Play and stored locally on your device.

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
